Daiyuu Nobori

Researcher at Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan

Daiyuu Nobori is a software technology research manager who develops teleworking systems for Japanese companies and government agencies, and SoftEther VPN security software used by 7 million users worldwide.He started SoftEther Corporation in 2004 while still a student at the University of Tsukuba. He acquired a Ph.D. degree at the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba in 2017. He has been an Associate Professor at Headquarters for International Industry-University Collaboration University of Tsukuba since April 2017 (Visiting Professor from 2022) From 2018, he has been Director of the Cyber Technology Research Office of the Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA); from 2020, he has been a member of the Special Affairs Bureau at NTT East's headquarters (both in active service).

Convolution of Informatics and Biomedical Sciences on Glocal Alliances, CIBoG
Program Leader

Masahisa Katsuno graduated from Nagoya University School of Medicine in 1995 and did his clinical training at Nagoya Daini Red Cross Hospital. After completing his graduate studies at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine in 2003, he worked as a visiting researcher and specially-appointed lecturer at the School of Advanced Studies at Nagoya University before assuming his current position in July 2015. He is also a professor of Clinical Research Education at Nagoya University, and the CIBoG (Convolution of Informatics and Biomedical Sciences on Glocal Alliances) program coordinator for the WISE program. 2009 JSPS Award, 2014 Japan Neurological Society Award, and 2020 Commendation from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. He is a board member of the Japanese Society of Neurology, the Japanese Society of Neurological Therapeutics, and the Japan Society for Dementia Research.

From WISE Programs nationwide, 22 programs have come together with 40 students.
They are divided into 10 groups and will engage in group discussions on the following topic themes.

International / interdisciplinary approaches (for 2030) toward :

  1. A healthier society, including mental health, work-life balance, and family life.
  2. An inclusive society for minorities, regarding disability, LGBT, race, or nationality.
  3. World sustainability, in terms of, for example, SDGs or world peace.
  4. Shaping a career path in the globalization era.
  5. Creation of a startup company by transitioning from academia to industry, from science to social implementation.
  6. Acquisition of skills and mindset for globally influential entrepreneurship.
  7. Education, from elementary to graduate school.
  8. Cultural enrichment of education, regarding communication, diversity, beliefs, and values.
  9. Future education utilizing emerging technologies, for example, AI, VR, and AR.
  10. Education on emergency responsiveness, facing pandemics, global threats, pollution, or natural disasters.

Students from 32 programs, including WISE programs and the Programs for Leading Graduate Schools from across the country, have gathered, totaling 69 students.
Presenters will choose a theme related to their research and projects from five departmental themes and deliver poster presentations.

During the poster session, evaluations will be conducted by judges for each departmental theme, and the following awards will be presented to presenters who deliver outstanding presentations.
